Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa in Rotorua was a very special wellness wai space project to be part of. The many national architectural and design awards Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa have collected in recent months are a testament to RCG's design and Pukeroa Oruawhata Group ( Ngāti Wakaue ) vision to create a taonga for all of New Zealand and our international visitors.
The Tory Hotel's new cantilevered, glass-bottomed swimming pool in Century City, Wellington, stands as another significant milestone for Coombes Aquatics. While I have yet to personally experience the pool, I can only imagine the invigorating feeling of completing morning laps while overlooking Wellington's rush hour traffic—a unique and energizing addition to anyone's morning swim routine.
The above two landmark projects were managed successfully by our Auckland and Wellington project teams. Journeying south to Christchurch, the King's new swim school has become a source of pride for us. The purpose-built 25m water spaces have been embraced by learn-to-swim participants and national youth representatives alike, providing the ideal environment to perfect their swimming skills.
The grand opening of the long-awaited new Roxburgh Pool on Sunday 18 December 2023 is a lovely way to finish the year, for the Coombes Aquatics team. The new Roxburgh community swimming pool is a salute to the tenacious local community, whose unwavering determination to see the rebuilding of their community pool finally comes to fruition some sixteen years later! Congratulations Roxburgh Pool for making sure there is a beautiful local wai space available for all to enjoy
