Coombes Aquatics Limited are delighted to handover the completed Tulloch Park Splash pad to the Key stakeholders.
Tulloch Park's Water Park Design collaboratively started many months ago with the Gore District council's water park brief. The design process carefully considered, functionality, accessibility, and the historical significance of the site, which previously housed Mataura's much- loved indoor swimming pool, which no longer served the community's needs.
In 2024 Coombes Aquatics was successfully awarded the tender for the Tulloch Park Children' s splash pad, encompassing, splash pad design, water toy selection, water services, and heating installation.
Water toys were carefully selected to challenge and delight different ages groups while supporting the child's natural progression through water play. Toddlers can enjoy gentle ground-level sprays, while older kids and teens can test their bravery under the thrill of a 4-meter-high dumping bucket! Family-friendly water spaces were also integrated between toddler and teen zones, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience for all. Additionally, the Gore District Council required built-in flexibility to allow for future enhancements, to keep the splash pad a vibrant and beloved community feature for years to come.
The result is truly magnificent, Mataura is now home to the largest, splash pad in the South Island, spanning 385m2 of water-filled joy!
Beyond the excitement, community Splash Pad’s, have a special power: they bring people together. Through interactive water play, and games, they provide participants of all ages and abilities, the opportunity to experience the sensory wonder of water play, at their own pace.
